
For decades, Somalia and ASAL counties in Kenya have witnessed recurrent droughts that diminished the coping mechanism of communities exposing them to food insecurity and poverty that occasioned loss of livelihoods and displacement of populations from rural areas to urban cities. To address impact of climate change, IDI will aim to partner with development agencies and affected communities to design livelihood and hunger safety net programs to restore resilience and strengthen coping mechanism to climatic shocks.
